The search for two men who escaped from a New York prison has entered it’s 10th day. Hundreds of tips, law enforcement and miles covered, and they are still nowhere to be found. The investigation is reportedly costing in the vicinity of $1 million a day.

Even though this story gives us visions of “Shawshank Redemption” and “Escape from Alcatraz,” the true drama lies in how the prisoners escaped: with help from a prison tailor shop worker, who is thought to have had a sexual relationship with one of the prisoners.

Joyce Mitchell, 51, provided them with the tools they needed for their Shawshank-style escape and has since been arrested and facing trial. Her bail is set at $100,000.

According to a law enforcement source, the two prisoners allegedly planned to kill her husband after escaping.
